The Leawood Estates Homeowners Association consists of all property owners within the Leawood Estates subdivision. Member residences are located within the cities of Leawood and Overland Park, Kansas. The Leawood Estates neighborhood is comprised of close to 1,500 homes. The Homeowners Association was created to insure the development and maintenance of a quality neighborhood.
Trash & Recycling
After reviewing proposals from vendors, the association has renewed its trash and recycling contract with Town & Country. The services will stay the same. Please remember to set you trash on one side of your driveway and your recycling on the other. You may place leaves and yard waste in paper bags or in plastic barrels for collection. During this fall yard cleanup period (November - December) there will be no limit on the number of leaf bags you can have collected.
Leawood Is Going Green
The city of Leawood has recognized the importance of asking all the homes associations to work together to help raise residents awareness of recycling and reducing the amount of trash that is taken to Johnson County landfills. A Green Initiative Citizens Task Force was formed to help organize these efforts.
Yard waste... must be collected in paper bags for trash pickup. Paper bags are available at most local hardware stores, home centers and large discount stores. You may also place yard waste directly into a trash can, but that trash receptabcle must be placed on the other side of the driveway from the regular trash.
Building Permits... Our association's Deed Restrictions require that any exterior changes to your home must first be approved by the Deed Restrictions Committee of the LEHA Board. This includes decks, windows/doors, as well as remodels. If in doubt, please contact the LEHA Board before you begin a project.
