The City of Leawood has posted the updated plans for future use of the area at 96th & Lee Boulevard where the old City Hall and Fire Station are located. The most recent plan recommends razing the old City Hall building and converting the old Fire Station into a community space with restrooms and outdoor seating.

96th and Lee Display Boards A Public Hearing at the Planning Commission will be held Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Leawood City Hall, 4800 Town Center Drive.
This meeting will provide a formal public hearing on the preliminary plan for 96th & Lee. Any member of the public — not just adjacent property owners — may offer comments for the record.
This is when the Planning Commission will consider the plan and take action to recommend approval, denial, or modifications.

Purpose: Preliminary Site Plan will be considered.
