Short Term Rentals
The following news article was recently posted by the City of Leawood:

As excitement builds for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ in Kansas City, we know some homeowners may be considering renting their property during the event. Here's a quick reminder of Leawood’s current short-term rental requirements to help residents plan ahead:

  • The entire dwelling must be rented (no partial-home rentals)
  • Rentals must be for a minimum of 30 days
  • A valid rental license is required
City Council recently considered temporary changes to these requirements and, following strong community feedback, chose to keep the existing standards in place.

Homeowners who are considering renting their property can visit leawood.org/access to review the requirements and apply for a rental license.
